We will continue our learning of animal groups linked to science next week by looking at ‘birds’. We will research facts which make reptiles different from other animal groups and then write a super sentence about them using capital letters, full stops, finger spaces and the conjunction ‘and’.
In phonics we will learning new digraphs (alternative spellings)
ay (ai) as in play, stay
ou (ow) as in cloud, proud
oy (oi) as in boy, annoy
ea (ee) as in speak, treat
We will also be reading the following tricky words:
said says you do lie little
push put pull full
Don’t forget to review the sounds and tricky words in the front of the reading records whenever you read with your child.

Next week we will be exploring greater than, less than and equal to and we will be using symbols to show our understanding of this.
In geography we will be learning to name and recognise the seas that surround the United Kingdom. We will review our understanding of the four countries of the United Kingdom, England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
In music we are continuing to explore how tempo can affect a piece of music. We will explore using instruments to demonstrate fast and slow.
Your child will either have a maths homework booklet or a handwriting homework book.
