This week we have been learning the story of The Gingerbread Man. We have been sequencing the story and retelling it in our play. In the outdoor area we have been going on our own Gingerbread Man journeys and starting to decorate the outdoor classroom for the festive season.
We have been very busy practising our Christmas Nativity and the children are doing a fantastic job. You are all going to love it!
Christmas Post Box
Each class will have a Christmas post box for the children to send Christmas cards to their friends. This is a great opportunity for them to practice their writing skills.
Please see a list of first names of the children in the classroom windows. If sending a card to a child in another class please add the child’s class name or number as well.

Christmas is coming and we are loving seeing how excited the children are. In the run up to the festive period please keep adding to Tapestry all of the wonderful things that you are doing as a family… writing cards, making decorations and putting up the tree so that the children can share their family traditions with their friends.
Next week we will be continuing to learn the story of the Gingerbread Man. We will be transforming our classrooms ready for the festive season and start our Christmas craft. In phonics we will be adding ‘s’ to the end of words to make them plurals. We will be recapping all of our learning so far in preparation for our end of unit phonic assessments.
We will also be transforming the classroom in a Christmas wonderland and learning the story of The Gingerbread Man. We will be continuing rehearsing for our play (it is going to be lovely!) as well as completing lots of fun activities linked to the story.
In maths the children will be composing and de-composing numbers. The children will be investigating part–part–whole relations, e.g. seeing that 3 can be composed of 1 and 2.
