This week we celebrated Julia Donaldson by having our very own Zog day on Thursday. The children took part in drama activities, story telling, dragon art and of course, a dragon hunt! Throughout the week, the children have also listened to a number of Julia Donaldson stories and have discussed which of her stories are their favourite and why.
It was lovely to see so many of you at our open morning and we are sure you are very proud of all of the wonderful work that your child has produced.
We have been busy completing independent writing, maths and phonic assessments in preparation for the parent consultations next week. When we meet with you, we will be talking to you about their progress so far and next steps for development.
Reminders
We would love to have a regular intake of cardboard and plastic recycling to use as part of our continuous provision and ready for science week. If you have any to donate it would be greatly appreciated. Please ensure all products are clean and none have had NUT based products in them.

We are aware that Tapestry is currently not accessible. We are working to fix this issue with Tapestry and hope to have it working soon.
We can’t wait to see all of your photos once it is working again.
This week, we would love for your child to design their own dragon to join Zog at dragon school. Draw a picture, think of a name and what features your dragon has. For example, it is blue with white spikes and purple hair on the end of its tail.
We will be celebrating Chinese New Year which takes place in half term. The children will learn the story of The Great Race and reenact this using props. We will learn how to write numbers in Chinese, make Chinese lanterns and enjoy a chance to explore our Chinese restaurants in our role play areas. Each class will also have a special snack this week of noodles and sweet and sour sauce! We can’t wait to see what the children think of it.
