We will continue to write captions for a selection of Christmas pictures. We will be recapping all of the things we have learnt in English this term including capital letters, full stops, finger spaces, conjunctions (and, but).
In phonics we will be revising all of the new sounds (alternative spellings) and tricky words we have learnt in Year 1 so far. We will have a focus on the split digraphs o_e, e_e, i_e, a_e and u_e.
Have a look below to see some examples of the types of ‘real’ or ‘alien/fake’ words they may have to read. More information about the Phonics Screening Check will be given to you later in the year.
Real Words:
tribe broke scrape strike
Alien/Fake Words:
shob ult plear lope
Don’t forget to review the sounds and tricky words in the front of the reading records whenever you read with your child.
We hope you enjoyed our Christmas singalongs and it got you in the festive mood.
