We are going to be continuing our persuasive writing. We will continue to look at the persuasive features a writer would use to entice someone to visit a certain place. We will think about alliteration, exaggeration, adjectives, rhetorical questions and bossy language. We will finish writing our own persuasive texts convincing someone to visit London and will have fun sharing these with our peers. We will comment on what we love about our friends’ writing and discuss whether it has made us want to take a trip!
World Book Day – Thursday 5th March
Come to school dressed as your favourite book character!
We will move on to looking at doubling and halving numbers and the relationship this has with multiplication and division. We will practically show halves and doubles of numbers using resources such as tens frames. We will then move on to recalling odd and even numbers, looking carefully at the patterns we can spot. We will also use this to solve word problems.
As part of our ‘Look at London’ topic we will take a closer look at famous landmarks in London. We will have great fun on a landmark hunt outside and will collect facts about famous buildings.
In PSHE we will learn about how to be healthy, how to motivate ourselves to be healthy and how to recognise and manage our feelings and emotions. We will look at scenarios and decide how someone may be feeling, before suggesting ways they can calm themselves.
